So I have to admit, I am a tea addict (as well as a jar addict but I'll come to that another day). When I got to MIT I promised myself that I would not become a coffee guzzling, caffeine junkie zombie student. Three years in and still no coffee! I have substituted it with green tea though. There are so many choices out there and I almost enjoy tea shopping as much as clothes shopping (GASP!).
For those looking to make the switch, here are some of my favorites and why I like them:
I Love Lemon Bigelow tea has 100% of your daily Vit C. This is great and I highly recommend this to other students because it helps you keep from getting a cold and get over most illnesses quicker. I like it more than taking that Emergen-C stuff because the warm tea also soothes a sore throat. I drink this once a day usually during my first class.
I ADORE this tea! It's a great pick-me-up after class. The green tea has a little bit of caffeine to get you ready for homework. The açaí berries in the tea give it an amazing flavor and are full of antioxidants. My favorite thing about this brand of tea is that they're no nonsense. The ingredients are just green tea, hibiscus, and açaí berries.
This tea is really nice for late night homeworking. It's loaded with turmeric which is a vasodilator (expands blood vessels) to relieve headaches and lower blood pressure. It's instantly calming and smells fantastic. Again, this tea is no nonsense, only including turmeric, green tea, ginger, cinnamon, and honey.
